President's Message

Well, winter is upon us, but SGE events continue to plow ahead. Join us on Friday, December 14 for a special monthly luncheon with Gary Hoover of the University of Alabama to discuss "Plagiarism in the Economics Profession."
SGE also continues to look for papers and sessions for the 2008 SGE Annual Conference next June. Please see the Call for Papers for more information.
We are also excited about a number of events at the 2008 AEA meetings in New Orleans:
- Eight sessions with some great papers
- 25th Annual SGE Distinguished Lecture in Economics given by Dr. Peter Orszag, Director, Congressional Budget Office
- SGE-hosted cocktail party on Saturday, January 5th.
We hope you can join us at many of these exciting events and will get involved in SGE as we continue to grow and provide more opportunities for government economists to meet, mingle and present their work.
